Previous work experience

  • I founded Mic Drop Media, as a voice agent and post-production assistant.
  • Mic Drop Media currently services various South African Radio stations, producing radio ads and imaging, major publishers producing audiobooks and various corporate clients, producing educational and training material.
  • I am currently a freelance content-producer and call-screener at Cape Talk 567
  • My job includes sourcing and booking interviews with guests on a variety of topics.
  • Setting up show “runners”.
  • Taking the show to air, call-screening and producing.
  • Upon returning to the newly branded East Rand Stereo, I hosted the Morning Drive show (6-9AM) which was also nominated for a Radio Award
  • While hosting the Morning Drive, I was nominated for best Breakfast Presenter (community) alongside Jeremy Mansfield, who was fortunate enough to take the award home in 2020
  • After a year on the Morning Drive, I took up a position as the Programs Manager, retiring from on-air work for a period, to pursue management. I was fortunate enough to serve as Programs Manager for 2 years.
  • LM Radio gave me the opportunity to join them as a newsreader, which progressed into a position in technical production, and presenting.
  • At LM, I read news from 6AM every day until 3PM, after which I would co-host the LM Afternoon Drive until 6PM. The 12-hour shifts were due to short-staff at that time.
  • After 3 months at LM, I was given the opportunity to host the Afternoon Drive Show, solo.
  • I worked as a publicist and event coordinator for Ginger Rock, organizing and coordinating live concerts, product launches and acting Master of Ceremonies at all these events.
  • With Ginger Rock, I coordinated a tour with Francois van Coke, involving a tour through KZN, a total of 6 shows and 2 merchandise launches
  • In the same year we toured with Jack Parow, also through KZN
  • I joined East Rand Stereo as a co-host on the Breakfast Show. This was my introduction to the station. Through my first stint here, I managed to work my way through every department at the station including Presenting, Technical, Programs, Sales, and PR
  • I hosted breakfast, afternoon drive and multiple weekend-shows in this time at the station
  • Mix was kind enough to take me on board, as an intern, to further my knowledge in the industry. At Mix FM I watched the music department playlist the station, produced the Afternoon Drive Show with Stephan Bishop.
  • As it was over the festive season, I was able to stand in for daytime presenters, while they were away. My 2-month internship with Mix taught me how community radio, could commercialize completely.
  • At TuksFM I was given formal training into how radio worked, presenting on air and the back end of a radio station
  • Hosted every show on the stations programming log except for breakfast at that time, and was also one of the only interns to ever be put onto a daytime show
